When North Star, Osgood, and Yorkshire began to explore the need for a new sanitary sewer system, our staff was there to guide them through the process. After initial discussions with local leaders, it was decided that they could work together to install one wastewater treatment plant to serve all three communities. Our staff developed a preliminary engineering study and then proceeded into funding coordination, design, bidding, and construction administration.
The project included a collection system consisting of approximately 52,000 linear feet of mainline gravity sewer, two wastewater pumping stations, and 27,000 linear feet of force main. The treatment plant includes a 3-cell controlled discharge lagoon, solar mixing units and a maintenance building. The wastewater system serves approximately 350 homes and businesses.
